The challenge

Three-site replication combines synchronous high availability with asynchronous disaster recovery. Configuring these systems was time-consuming and error-prone.

My contribution

I designed guided configuration, monitoring, and recovery workflows for IBM FlashSystems three-site replication. The case-study storyboard follows a storage administrator protecting a mission-critical payment system. Instead of starting with technical configuration, the flow asks what outcome the administrator wants. It then visualizes the topology, validates latency and distance in context, maps workloads to protection levels, and confirms the setup before deployment. During a failure, it explains what happened, identifies the selected site, confirms data integrity, and guides the administrator through recovery with visible progress.

The impact

Configuration errors fell by 60%, and disaster-recovery setup time dropped from four hours to 25 minutes.
